A Voice Born at Home
Long before there was a stage, there was a home filled with song. JessC’s mother planted the first seed of music in her heart, and her uncle, the lead vocalist of a band, watered it daily, gently drawing her into singing by his side. By primary school, that early love had already found its first applause: second place in an inter-school singing competition.
Rising Young Voice
During secondary school, she was selected as the sole young singer representing her region at a state-level National Day celebration and appeared on television as a soloist representing her music academy. Around this time she discovered the electone, and her gift extended beyond singing. In Japan’s electone examinations, she earned a Distinction in performance technique and arrangement.
In high school, JessC organised her first solo concert to raise funds for orphaned children. Performing in five languages — English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Cantonese and Japanese — she drew a full house in a success that revealed her versatility as a multilingual performer. A Singapore record label soon invited her to join as a signed artist, yet she made the difficult choice to honour her studies.
Chasing Dreams Across Oceans
While pursuing further education in Canada, she advanced to the finals of TVB’s international New Talent Singing Awards.
Later, in the United States, she performed three English songs at her university graduation ceremony in Hawaii, earning enthusiastic acclaim and an invitation to record an album. Once more, she gently set the dream aside, trusting that it would wait for her.
Doctor Singer
In 2000, JessC officially stepped into the music world, soon known to many as the “Doctor Singer.” She released two albums and participated in the All Stars Orphan Love & Care Concert Tour, raising funds for orphans in need. Then came Love Stories, a concert tour across Malaysia, where every performance carried a purpose: to raise funds for children in need.
Then, at the height of her early momentum, she paused the spotlight to pursue her Master’s and doctoral degrees. It was a quiet season of learning and growth.
A Return in Song
Beginning in 2006, she released a series of Mandarin albums, including Loving You (爱你) and Message of Love from the Moon (明月千里寄相思), alongside her English classics album, I Just Fall in Love Again.
For JessC, music was never simply a performance. It was a way to connect with people, express emotions and bring comfort — a philosophy that would continue to shape her work for years to come.
Expanding Her Artistic Horizons
In 2012, her journey brought her to Taiwan, where she began a new chapter in her career. There she joined hands with celebrated producers Jet Qi and Chet Ng, and together they carefully crafted a series of releases, including Love in You (爱在转瞬间) and Tearless Sky (没有泪的天空). Her fresh sound and heartfelt delivery quickly found its way to local audiences.
Her songs received airplay on radio stations throughout Taiwan, and she was invited for interviews by many well-known DJs. Her warm, natural personality soon brought invitations from some of the island’s most popular television programmes, including the talk show Kangxi Lai Le (康熙来了) and the variety show Tiancai Chong Chong Chong (天才冲冲冲), among many others.
Away from the screen, she stayed close to the people who supported her. Intimate concerts and fan gatherings followed, and the audience grew into a devoted community that has continued to follow her journey ever since.
Stars, Strings and Stage
In 2015, her dream reached a new height at her first large-scale concert, Love Unity Concert, as two thousand guests gathered beneath her stars. In 2016, she brought the grace of Chinese orchestral music to the stage in ten Chinese Exquisite Orchestra Concert, and she began a new artistic chapter in theatre.
Her Voice Meets the World
That same year, Australia’s Future Global Entertainment recognised her gift and signed her. Her English albums There You Are and Be Strong were embraced with open arms. They climbed to the No 1 position in the Taiwan charts, standing higher than releases by Adele, Ed Sheeran and Madonna from the same period. Launch shows were held across the globe, sales surpassed 15,000 copies, and Warner honoured her with a Platinum Record.
This period marked a significant turning point, establishing JessC as an artist with ambitions that extended beyond linguistic and geographical boundaries.

Music as a Path to Healing
Alongside her recording career, JessC devoted herself to the study of therapeutic music. Bringing together her musical experience and background in health sciences, she explored how music could support emotional well-being and contribute to a greater sense of balance and inner peace.
This dedication led to the creation of seven therapeutic instrumental music albums, adding another dimension to her artistic journey. For JessC, music became more than a medium of expression — it became a bridge between art, healing and human connection.
A Bold Reinvention: Three Languages, One Identity
In 2025, JessC embarked on one of the most transformative chapters of her career. Working with American producers, she underwent a major artistic reinvention, launching three studio albums designed to reach distinct international audiences: the Mandarin album My Style (《我就是我》), her English album Six Feet Deep, and her first Malay album Dekati.
Each album revealed a different facet of her musical identity, bringing together diverse sounds, emotions and cultural influences while expressing one unmistakable artistic voice.

Her growing international presence was further strengthened by the My Style Tour, with sold-out performances at Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands, welcoming 5,000 attendees, and Kuala Lumpur’s Mega Star Arena, drawing 3,500.
Recognition on the Global Stage
Her achievements continued to gain international recognition through multiple music awards. Among the most significant was the 2026 Josie Music Awards’ World Artist of the Year, a milestone that underscored her growing presence on the global music stage.

From a young girl who sang alongside her family to an internationally recognised, multilingual recording artist, JessC’s journey has been defined by perseverance, reinvention and an enduring belief in the power of music.
