JessC Wins Best Asian Pop Award in Los Angeles
KUALA LUMPUR: Rising Malaysian singer Jessie Chung continues to build momentum on the international stage after being crowned Best Asian Pop for her popular track My Style at the InterContinental Music Awards 2025, held in Los Angeles recently.
The achievement underscores JessC’s growing recognition not only across Asia but also within the global music industry.
Her Mandarin album My Style has won over audiences in China, achieving strong performances on streaming platforms and radio charts. Meanwhile, her Malay-language album Dekati sparked what fans in Indonesia have dubbed the “JessC Fever”.
Her English single Six Feet Deep has also gained traction in Western markets, receiving airplay on major stations including Z100 New York, Virgin Radio Vancouver and KIIS FM Sydney.
The InterContinental Music Awards is widely regarded as one of the more prominent international music competitions, with judging panels comprising industry professionals from around the world who have previously collaborated with artists such as Celine Dion, Selena Gomez and Ricky Martin.
JessC’s work has been praised for its distinctive style and its ability to bridge Eastern and Western musical influences.
Speaking about the award, the singer expressed gratitude and described the honour as recognition for everyone who has supported her music.
“Music is a healing force that connects hearts and transcends cultures,” she said. “I’m deeply grateful for this recognition, and this award belongs to everyone who has supported our music.”
The win is also expected to open further opportunities for JessC internationally, including the possibility of one day stepping onto the stage of the Grammy Awards.
According to her schedule, JessC will begin a global promotional campaign for her latest single One Chance in September, starting in the United States before moving on to Europe and South America. The campaign aims to reach audiences across 50 countries and 100 cities by the end of the year.
Local fans can also look forward to the My Style World Tour Concert, scheduled for 20 December 2025 at the Mega Star Arena, following her sold-out performance earlier this year at the Arena of Stars.
