Indonesian Songs Take Priority as JessC Opens a New Chapter in Her Global Music Career

JessC Satu Suara Raya

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian singer-songwriter Jessie Chung continues to strengthen her presence on the international music scene after successfully concluding her My Style World Tour.

The final concert, held in her hometown of Kuala Lumpur, marked the end of a global tour that spanned a full year. The performance drew thousands of fans and saw JessC deliver nearly 40 songs in five languages: Mandarin, Indonesian, English, Japanese and Cantonese, highlighting her identity as a multilingual artist with cross-cultural appeal.

Clips from the concert quickly circulated on social media, sparking lively discussions among music lovers. Despite the tour’s conclusion, JessC’s schedule remains packed. After a brief break, she returned to work through her involvement in musical theatre productions including Butterfly Lovers and Tearless Sky, while preparing several major projects for the coming year.

Indonesian songs become a priority

Looking ahead to 2026, JessC plans to release three new albums in Mandarin, English and Indonesian, followed by another world tour in the second half of the year.

“Music has always been my way of communicating with the world,” she said. “The positive response to my multilingual releases last year has given me tremendous confidence. The plans ahead are ambitious, but I want to continue sharing emotions across cultures and express my gratitude directly to audiences through future tours.”

Interestingly, JessC revealed that recording for her upcoming project will begin with Indonesian-language songs. The decision reflects the strong emotional connection she has built with Indonesian fans, as well as her close interactions with Indonesian media and radio stations over the past year.

“Every interaction feels sincere and meaningful. I want to return that love through music while reminding myself to stay true to my original purpose and keep exploring creatively,” she added.

Looking ahead

Her first Indonesian album, Dekati, released last year, received a positive reception in the market. Several songs including Dekati, Tak Terpisah, Expose and Demi Impian successfully entered Indonesian radio charts, marking a significant milestone in her international career.

JessC is currently promoting the album’s final single, Cinta Tanpa Batas, a warm pop track centred on the theme of unconditional love. She hopes the song will resonate with listeners and further strengthen the album’s presence on Indonesian radio charts.

With new releases in the pipeline, a growing bond with Indonesia and another global tour on the horizon, 2026 is set to mark an ambitious new chapter in JessC’s expanding international music journey.
