JessC’s Music Becomes a Therapy for the Soul

KUALA LUMPUR: The Jessie Chung World Tour 2025 concert, which featured legendary Malaysian singer Fauziah Latiff as a special guest, delivered a performance very much in a class of its own at the Arena of Stars last week.
With around 5,000 fans in attendance, the concert blended entertainment with carefully crafted musical elements. Its concept and song selection added warmth and emotional depth to the evening.
Over the course of the three-hour show, Jessie Chung, also known as JessC, performed a total of 33 songs in Malay, English and Mandarin.
She also impressed audiences by singing while playing several instruments on stage, including the piano, keyboard and guitar, demonstrating her remarkable musical versatility.
Moved by the enthusiastic reception, JessC expressed heartfelt thanks to her fans, describing the moment as deeply touching.
“Thank you so much for your support tonight. Your presence truly moves me,” she told the audience during the performance.
“Your energy, your cheers and your love mean everything to me.”
Beyond her role as a singer, JessC is also a certified music therapist, holding a diploma in music therapy from institutions in the United Kingdom and Spain.
The Australia-based performer also holds a PhD in Health Sciences from Charisma University and is recognised as a Naturopathic Doctor by the American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board.
Through melodies designed to soothe the heart, lyrics that clear the mind and vocals that carry a sense of hope, JessC’s music has resonated with listeners facing illness, depression, anxiety and difficult moments in life.
Drawing on her background in medicine, naturopathy and music therapy, she has dedicated her artistic work to using music as a tool for physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
Meanwhile, the appearance of Fauziah Latiff added further sparkle to the concert despite her performing only three songs.
She joined JessC in a duet of Tak Terpisah, which was met with thunderous applause from the crowd. Fauziah also performed the songs Dia and Sekilas Senyumanmu, creating a nostalgic moment for long-time fans who had missed hearing her powerful vocals.
Her energetic stage presence and unmistakably smooth voice once again demonstrated why she remains one of Malaysia’s most respected vocalists.
Responding to the positive reception after the concert, Fauziah said she deeply appreciated the continued support of fans who have remained loyal throughout her career.
The singer, who began her musical journey in the 1980s, has released more than ten albums. Among her well-known hits are Teratai Layu Di Tasik Madu, Tiada Noktah Cinta and Setia Ku Korbankan.
Her studio albums include Digamit Memori (1988), Kau Merubah Segalanya (1989), Kini (1990), Tiada Noktah Cinta (1991), Gubahan Rindu Puisi Syahdu (1992), Epilog Memori Gelita (1993), Apa Sebenarnya (1994), Sahabat (1995), Jee ’98 (1998), Yang Lebih Kau Cinta…Jee (2001) and Pesona (2006).
