JessC Surprised by ‘Best Asian Pop’ Win in Los Angeles, Sets Sights on the Grammys

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian singer Jessie Chung admitted she was taken by surprise after being announced the winner of the Best Asian Pop category for her song My Style at the InterContinental Music Awards 2025, held in Los Angeles last August.
The victory, she said, strengthens her position not only as an Asian performer but also as an artist increasingly gaining recognition on the global music stage.
“I honestly didn’t expect to win this award,” JessC said. “But I am extremely grateful for this recognition. This award belongs to everyone who has supported my music over the years.”
The singer added that the international honour has given her renewed confidence to aim higher in her career, with hopes of one day competing on music’s biggest stage, the Grammy Awards.
JessC, who is also known professionally as Dr Jessie, has steadily built a reputation for blending music with therapeutic elements, reflecting both her artistic and medical background.
