JessC wins Best Asian Pop at the 2025 InterContinental Music Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: Australia-based Malaysian singer Jessie Chung, better known as JessC, continues her remarkable global ascent.

Having released three albums in Mandarin, Malay, and English in the first half of this year, she has now been awarded ‘Best Asian Pop’ at the prestigious InterContinental Music Awards 2025 (ICMA) in Los Angeles for her song ‘My Style’.

At the same time, her English single ‘Six Feet Deep’ successfully entered the Western market, gaining radio airplay on major stations like Z-100 New York, Virgin Radio Vancouver, and KIIS FM Sydney within just two months.

This recognition at the ICMA makes JessC one of the biggest winners in the ‘Best of Asia’ category, marking three major triumphs in less than six months across China, Indonesia, and North America.

The ICMA is one of the most influential international music awards, with an elite panel of judges from the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

The jury includes producers and songwriters who have worked with global icons such as Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Selena Gomez, Ricky Martin, and Westlife.

JessC’s winning entry was highly praised for its originality, artistic expression, and cross-cultural impact, showcasing her ability to transcend geographical and linguistic boundaries.

Importantly, ICMA winners not only receive international recognition but also opportunities to perform on bigger global stages, including the Grammy Awards.

Currently preparing for her year-end world tour, JessC said that winning ‘Best Asian Pop’ is not just a personal achievement but a victory for her entire team and all her supporters.

“Music has the power to heal, connect hearts, and bridge cultures,” she said.

“I’m deeply grateful for this recognition, and this award belongs to everyone who has supported our music.”

Fuelled by this latest accolade, JessC is launching a global promotion for her upcoming single, ‘One Chance’. Starting this September in major US cities, the campaign will continue across Europe and South America, with the ambitious goal of leaving her musical footprint in 50 countries and 100 cities by the end of the year.

Following a sold-out concert in May 2025 at Genting’s Arena of Stars, JessC will return to Malaysia with her ‘My Style World Tour Concert’ on Dec 20, at the Mega Star Arena, here.
